Popular hitmaker Michal David is celebrating the fortieth anniversary of meeting his wife Marcela. To celebrate the anniversary, he prepared a beautiful surprise for his wife, he wrote a touching declaration of love for her in a song called Our goal. “Marcelka and I met in a restaurant where I regularly went for lunch. The beautiful girl caught my eye right away, so I went to introduce myself to her. By then I had already become quite famous, but she didn’t know me at all. I actually liked that about her too, that she wasn’t a fan girl. Then I waited for her for about three months until she arrived back from Brazil, where our female tennis players had won the Fed Cup, and then we moved right away.” Michal David remembers meeting Marcela, who was a professional tennis player. That was 1984, three years later in November 1987 they got married and in 1989 their daughter Klára was born to them. The following year, daughter Miška, who succumbed to leukemia at the age of nine.
“The song was recorded, like the whole album, at London’s Eastcote studio. We write songs together with producer Martin Teref, who discovered the band Train and is also the author of the hit Hey, Soul Sister. All the songs on the upcoming album were recorded by Robbie Williams’ band. They are really great musicians. I always wrote the lyrics alone in the evening at the hotel and sang them in the studio the very next day.” Michal David describes the creation of new music.
The new album should be released in the spring of next year and is fully directed by the mentioned producer Martin Terefe (Jason Mraz, James Morrison, Robbie Williams and others). The first single of the record was the energetic composition Je mi líp, and Michal David plans to present several new compositions before the release. The album will be released under the BrainZone label.
