Having joined the digital world in 2003, Virginie Dominguez experienced the early days of the consumer internet and mobile phones within the Orange Group, before joining the executive committee of Servier in 2021. The secret of this journey to the top of a company? “I am a pure product of the Republican elevator,” believes this granddaughter of farmers, raised in a village in the Vercors. Her civil servant father and her teacher mother passed on to this graduate of Polytechnique and an MBA at Ponts et Chaussées the importance of studies to rise socially.
Spotted at the age of 25 by France Télécom, she was entrusted with the management of major accounts for the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America. “For me, who wanted to go international and commercial, it was a fantastic opportunity. But I never thought I would stay there for seventeen years,” says this dynamic 46-year-old woman, who has worked in turn on infrastructure, the development of video-on-demand platforms for mobile phones, before managing 1,000 customer service and store employees.
In 2017, she was responsible for setting up the group’s digital management. “With the competition from Free, Orange had lost around 30% of its turnover with the general public. My role consisted of absorbing this drop by digitizing customer relations to reduce costs,” says the engineer, who is pleased to have achieved “20 million euros of monthly savings” by halving customer service calls.

To achieve these results, she recruited around a hundred employees and set up a “digital academy” in 2021, through which 5,000 employees were trained.
