Milan/Berlin – Now it is a sad certainty. Charité doctor Marcus Maurer (58, dermatologist), who had been missing for weeks, is dead. The doctor had not returned from a hike in the Italian foothills of the Alps. Now his body has been found.

Rescue teams from the local fire brigade, mountain rescue and alpine specialists from the Soccorso Alpino della Guardia di Finanza: (SAGF) were immediately sent to the area by helicopter.
Later, a helicopter equipped with thermal imaging cameras was even called in from Bern. Although the rescuers were on duty all night, they found no clues as to the whereabouts of the doctor from Berlin. Until now.
