Valerio-Bodon Vincent received a contract from the Lakers, he could be the second Hungarian basketball player in the NBA

On Thursday, the overseas professional basketball league was published on the NBA’s website newsaccording to which the 23-year-old player of the Hungarian national team, Valerio-Bodon Vincent, received a contract from the Los Angeles Lakers, the club of LeBron James, considered one of the best players in the world.

The news is true and we are happy about it, but it is important to note that with this contract the player cannot yet play in the best league in the world. As Dávid Kornél, the only Hungarian NBA player to date, told RTL, it is an “Exhibit 10” type contract with which Valerio-Bodon Vincent – just like last year – in the Lakers branch team in the “G League”, he can play for the South Bay Lakers. At the same time, if you have this, you can get another “two-way” contract at any time during the season, with which you can introduce yourself among the big ones, in the NBA.

Valerio-Bodon Vincent participated in the Lakers summer camp for the second year now, played in four games, averaged 13 and a half minutes, during which he averaged 4.5 points, 4 rebounds and 1.3 assists. Last season, he played in 25 games for the South Bay Lakers. He averaged 18.3 minutes, 6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 blocks. He played his best game in Santa Cruz in March, when he scored 19 points.

As a Hungarian, only Dávid Kornél has played in the NBA so far (109 games for the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons), Ádám Hanga, who was selected by the San Antonio Spurs in 2011, was close he ended up not getting a contract from overseas.
