Gaza – Four Palestinians were killed and several others were injured, early Saturday morning, in an Israeli bombardment that targeted a school housing displaced persons in the northern Gaza Strip.
Anadolu Agency correspondent said that an Israeli drone targeted Halima Al-Sadia School, which houses displaced people in the Jabalia Al-Nazla area, north of the Gaza Strip, with a missile, killing 4 Palestinians and wounding a number of others.
For his part, the spokesman for the Civil Defense Authority in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, said in a brief statement, “The targeted place is a tent housing displaced people within the walls of Halima Al-Sadia School.”
Basal pointed out that “the initial toll of the bombing amounted to 4 martyrs and 19 wounded.”
The Israeli army, through its spokesman, Avichay Adraee, admitted to bombing the school, claiming that it was being used by the Palestinian factions movement.
In a statement on the X platform, the spokesman explained that an Israeli Air Force plane targeted elements of the factions movement inside a command and control complex belonging to the movement.
He claimed the complex “was hidden in an area previously used as the Halima Sadia School.”
It is worth noting that the Israeli army had previously bombed several schools housing displaced persons under the pretext that they were being used by the factions’ movement, which resulted in the killing of a large number of civilians and led to a wave of international and UN condemnations of these “massacres.”
The spokesman claimed that “prior to the attack, several measures were taken to reduce the possibility of civilian casualties, including the use of precision munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence.”
With full American support, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, resulting in more than 135,000 Palestinian deaths and injuries, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children.
In contempt of the international community, Israel continues the war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate halt, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
