He explained that it is no secret that this entails real risks of a regional war breaking out, which will undoubtedly have dire consequences for the region and the entire world, and will have a severe impact on peoples seeking development and progress, as it will set this region back years.
He pointed out that the past period was difficult for the Palestinian people, who lived through this tragedy and coexisted with its burdens as much as they could, and endured harsh conditions that far exceeded the capacity of human beings to endure, patient, content, generous and with their heads held high.
He added that the Palestinian people’s faith in the justice of the cause they are defending in the face of the enemy’s bombs, drones and missiles does not waver one iota. All of this has happened in the shadow of the international inability to stop the aggressor, and even sometimes to grant him a safe haven to continue committing atrocities without punishment or accountability.
The Secretary-General of the Arab League stressed that the numbers and statistics confirm that the volume of bombs and explosives dropped on the Gaza Strip exceeded tens of thousands of tons, which is much more powerful than the nuclear bomb dropped on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II, leaving behind huge human and material losses from which recovery will not be easy.

The resolution includes a special clause to support the Palestinian economy and the Palestinian Authority in light of the war that the Palestinian people are facing in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The resolution stressed the implementation of the emergency response plan prepared by the State of Palestine to address the repercussions of the Israeli aggression on the State of Palestine, and the crime of genocide committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip, and called on countries, organizations, development agencies, and relevant national and international funds to contribute to financing and implementing this plan, in coordination with the State of Palestine.
The Economic and Social Council of the Arab League called on Arab countries to provide urgent support to families affected by the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, by providing emergency aid, in coordination with the General Secretariat, Social Affairs Sector, and through concluding bilateral agreements with the Ministry of Social Development.
