Youth Heroes: Gabriel and Noah Save a Life
Gabriel Johan Misiewicz-Myhre (15) and Noah Østerhus Ask (16) became unexpected heroes on Saturday afternoon when they were the first to respond to a serious accident involving a jet ski off the island of Talgje in Ryfylke, according to Stavanger Aftenblad.
Misiewicz-Myhre alerted the newspaper at 4:13 PM, detailing the incident. He wrote, “Ugly jet ski accident in Ryfylke outside Talgje. The person is safe, but the jet ski was split in two and was sinking. Two 16-year-old boys were first on the scene and rescued the individual.”
The teenagers swiftly contacted a crane boat to assist in retrieving the man from the water.
“The boys understood that they had contributed to saving a life and were incredibly proud of their actions,” shared Maren Eide, the family’s welfare lawyer. “For their parents, it’s comforting to know that their sons made a significant effort for others before their tragic passing.”
Eide added, “They are very proud of their boys, who kept their composure and acted appropriately in such a challenging situation.”
Tragically, the two young heroes from Ullandhaug in Stavanger were discovered lifeless in the sea on Sunday evening. Earlier that day, a severely damaged jet ski was also located in the vicinity.
