Lando Norris, the British driver of McLaren, was the fastest in Saturday’s qualifying session for the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix, so he will be able to start from the front in Monza in Sunday’s race, MTI wrote.

This is the fourth pole position of the 24-year-old driver, who is in second place overall, this year and the fifth of his career. His teammate, the Australian Oscar Piastri, starts next to Norris, while George Russell, the British driver of Mercedes, took the third place in qualifying.

Max Verstappen (Red Bull), the world championship points leader and defending champion, can only start from seventh place, his teammate, Mexican Sergio Pérez, will start next to him. Among the Ferrari drivers in front of the domestic audience, Monaco’s Charles Leclerc took the fourth place, while Spain’s Carlos Sainz took the fifth place. Next to Sainz, the seven-time World Cup winner Lewis Hamilton, the British driver of Mercedes, starts. Argentinian Franco Colapinto, who is now making his debut at Williams, won the 18th grid in his first F1 qualifying session.

The 53-lap Italian Grand Prix starts on Sunday at 3 p.m.
