The world’s first self-flying helicopter has been presented, the test video is also released

Several companies are working on the development of aircraft capable of automatic take-off and landing, but one company has presented the world’s first commercial helicopter capable of automatic flight.

The company, called SkyRise, said it could be made part of air taxis operating in cities in the future. The company has also released a video of the successful test of the self-flying helicopter.

The company says the technology can be used in existing helicopters, and was also tested in the video by adding it to the Robinson R44, which flew after receiving approval from the US Federal Aviation Administration. There were also 2 pilots inside as backup.

Skyrise isn’t the only company dreaming of self-flying planes, with Google, Uber and several other companies, even Airbus and Boeing, working on air taxi projects. .

The SkyRise project is somewhat different in this regard as the technology can be used in helicopters currently in use. The company is not only focusing on automated flights, but its system also automates various aspects of flight.

Various sensors help steer, stabilize and guide the helicopter while other flight data is also monitored. The helicopter is constantly monitored so that it does not go beyond the safety limit especially in emergency situations.

Automatic take-off and landing are enabled by sensors installed in the helipad, and these sensors monitor the weather while communicating with the helicopter to enable safe flight, while also monitoring birds and drones.
