Since 2020, more than 1.8 million euros in grants have been allocated by the Metropolis for an action plan responding to current challenges employment and local consumption. A new grant of 640,000 euros was voted in 2024 to support initiatives led by institutional and associative partners.

The municipalities of Lyon, Villeurbanne and Givors benefit from funding for territorial economic developers who play a key role in local economic development.
The Lyon Métropole Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) has already received more than 288,000 euros to support local entrepreneurship through programs such as “Nuggets” et “Grand 8”having already certified 100 companies and generated 6,000 jobs in ten years.
The device “Lyon SME Pact”, co-financed by the Metropolis, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and the CCI, intensifies business relations between local SMEs and major accounts, with more than 1,500 companies mobilized each year.
In addition, aid of 250,000 euros has been granted between 2020 and 2023 to support local trade, crafts and tourist accommodation.
Raising awareness of water efficiency and toxic discharges into water.
In 2024, the Lyon Metropolis wanted to support an awareness-raising action led by the CMA Lyon Rhône in order to raise awareness among craftsmen about current regulations and encourage them to change their practices in terms of water consumption and discharges. Webinars and personalized advice will be given, mainly to target companies: hairdressers, cleaning companies, general mechanics, construction, brewers, etc. A grant of €12,000 is allocated to support these actions.
The Lyon-Rhône Chamber of Trades and Crafts (CMA) supports the ecological transition of craft businesseswith initiatives such as “Lyon Eco Energy” which has already helped more than 400 companies to control their energy costs. In 2024, awareness-raising actions on water sobriety and waste management are also planned.
Finally, six structures will receive 100,500 euros to liven up city centres, promote the circular economy and improve waste management.
Since 2020, the Metropolis has invested 304,500 euros to support these urban revitalization initiatives.
