Did you know that you can travel to the United States for two years without a visa? There is a permit for this, which does not apply to everyone, but is easy to resolve.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has implemented strict control mechanisms for travelers entering and leaving the country, including those who do so through the Visa Waiver Program (VWP).

This program allows citizens of 41 countries, including Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy, to travel to the United States for tourism or business purposes and remain in the country for up to 90 days without needing a visa.

However, it is now mandatory to obtain prior authorization through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).

ESTA, introduced by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is a key tool to strengthen security in travel control.

While those with a valid visa do not need to apply for ESTA, all other citizens of VWP participating countries must obtain this authorization before traveling.

Steps to apply for the ESTA permit and travel to the United States for two years without needing a visa

1. **Create an application**: Go to the official ESTA website and follow the instructions to start the process. You will need to accept the traveler clauses.

2. **Upload a passport photo**: A legible image of your passport must be uploaded and a valid email address must be provided to receive updates and the application number.

3. **Answer eligibility questions**: Complete the questions about your eligibility as a traveler, making sure the information is accurate before submitting your application.

4. **Application Payment**: The total cost is $21, and can be paid with cards such as MasterCard, VISA, American Express, Discover (JCB or Diners Club only), or through PayPal.

The status of the application will be reported within 72 hours or more. It is important to remember that if payment is not completed within the established time frame, the application will be deleted.
