Expo Maquila will bring together renowned exhibitors and a business roundtable

Asuncion, IP Agency.- This Monday, September 2, the 8th Expo Maquila will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Asunción with conferences by international and national exhibitors, a job fair and a business meeting.

With important activities, the 8th edition of Expo Maquila will be held on Monday, September 2, 2024 from 08:30 to 20:00 at the Sheraton Hotel in Asunción. The event will offer conferences with national and international exhibitors, a job fair, a business roundtable and the possibility of establishing business networks in the sector.

The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with free admission, upon registration on the website www.maquila.org.py.

The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, is expected to be present at the inauguration of the event, along with authorities, representatives of multilateral organizations, the diplomatic corps accredited in Paraguay, presidents of state entities and institutions, among others.

The event will feature Luis Rivera, a Costa Rican economist with more than 25 years of experience in international economics, public policy, and data analysis in several Latin American countries. He has worked as a consultant for the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and INCAE Business School, among other national and international organizations.

There will also be talks of interest with representatives of the different Ministries, Ambassadors representing some of the parent companies of the factories operating from Paraguay, service and tangible goods manufacturers. Success stories from national industries such as Idle Capacity Manufacturers, among others, will also be presented.

The business roundtable “Maquila Business Forum 2024” will bring together industries in search of matrices or production sites to produce products or services with export quality.

The maquila industry currently has 308 companies operating under the regime. Exports reached USD 610 million in July, an increase of 6% compared to last year.
