Opening of road in O’Leary benefits 5,000 residents after 30 years of waiting

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The partial opening of a new road linking the Tacuaró Sur company with the PY02 route has fulfilled the dream of more than 5,000 residents of the Juan E. O’Leary district, Alto Paraná department, after three decades of expectations.

The project, promoted by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) in close collaboration with the Municipality of O’Leary, began approximately a month and a half ago and is now in its final stage.

The work includes channelling, piping, opening and graveling. At kilometre 1.5, work was carried out to open the road, while at kilometre 5 a drainage channel was installed under the road, facilitating drainage and guaranteeing the safe transit of vehicles.

Enabling and early adopters

Yesterday, at the conclusion of one of the work fronts at km 5, the road was opened, marking a milestone for the community. The activity was attended by the head of District No. 10 of the MOPC, Eng. Alejandro Leite, and the mayor of O’Leary, Everaldo Acosta.

Coincidentally, a group of young students became the first beneficiaries of the new route, avoiding the detour they previously had to take to reach their educational centers.

A leap towards progress

Following the opening, Mayor Everaldo Acosta highlighted the positive impact of the work on the community: “I sincerely thank the people of Tacuaró Sur for their warmth, who expressed their great joy at the opening of the road, since before they had to make huge detours to get to their destinations and now, however, they are just a step away,” he stressed.

The new artery not only speeds up the daily commute for residents, but also optimizes access to educational, health, distribution and consumption centers for all residents of the area, saving them approximately 5 kilometers. Once completed, the road is expected to boost the economic and social development of the region, raising the quality of life of its inhabitants.
