PSSI Executive Committee member Arya Sinulingga revealed the reasons why the Indonesian football federation terminated the employment of a number of its employees.
The employees affected by the layoffs were employees in the media and engineering fields totaling 43 people. Arya said the layoffs had to be carried out as a step in PSSI’s transformation.
“Transformation cannot only be done externally, it must also be done to the PSSI organization. We have asked a consultant to…
do what is called, in the future PSSI should do what. Then they do the criteria. Because we want to look ahead. 2045, right? How is our organization’s readiness and so on,” said Arya as quoted from an audio statement received by reporters in Jakarta, Monday (2/9).
“Therefore, what is needed is a change in the PSSI organization. Well, these changes are also carried out by implementing criteria from
each section, and the criteria of each that is needed. Well after that based on the data, we also carry out evaluation steps, then carry out Termination of Employment,” he added.
In addition, the basis for PSSI to dismiss a number of its employees was because certain employees were found to be using the organization’s image and video materials.
“Well, although there are also some, for example, yesterday one of our employees did it, he held our digital documentation. He even created his own account, utilized PSSI’s digital assets, entered them into that account. He even sold those accounts,” said Arya.

Arya added that the violations had been reported to the head of the section, but no action had been taken.
by a responsible person.
Another violation also committed by certain employees was the monetization of PSSI videos broadcast on YouTube.
Arya said that the YouTube advertising revenue (Adsense) from the videos was sent to his personal account, and not PSSI.
Despite the layoffs issue, Arya emphasized that the national team’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Australia were not disrupted.
“Well, for our preparations against Australia, we won’t be disturbed. Hopefully we won’t be disturbed because we are doing…
changes and can be professional. So indeed if PSSI wants to change, it must carry out a transformation, especially in its own body,” concluded Arya. (Ant/Z-1)
