The ticket-buying frenzy follows the announcement on Tuesday that brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher have ended their 15-year feud and will reunite on stage after the 1990s tour.
Tickets for 15 shows in the UK next July and August – which will kick off a world tour – were all sold out by 9am local time when they went on sale.
However, fans of the band in the UK reported struggling to get hold of tickets with hundreds of thousands waiting for hours online and others unable to even access the websites selling them.
The fight is over
The band who have released hits such as ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ and ‘Champagne Supernova’ will play 17 shows in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin.
Tickets for the UK concerts start at around £75 (around €89) and go up to around £150 (€178) for a seat in the stadium in front of the stage.
The most expensive is for London’s Wembley Stadium — which also includes a pre-concert party and costs more than £500 (nearly €594).
Formed in Manchester, North West England, in 1991, Oasis helped usher in the Britpop era of that decade, becoming the ‘rival’ band to Londoners Blur.
The Gallagher brothers became notorious for their public feuds, which came to a head at a concert in Paris in 2009 when Liam smashed one of Noel’s guitars.
This was the last time the brothers performed together, although each often performed the band’s hits in sold-out solo shows.
