Bin Salman, during a call with Sisi, stresses the need to exert efforts to stop Israeli violations against the Palestinian people

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that during the call, developments in the Palestinian territories were discussed, and the Saudi Crown Prince stressed “the necessity of exerting all efforts, Arab and Islamic, to stop the escalation and the ongoing Israeli violations against the brotherly Palestinian people.”

The official spokesman for the Egyptian presidency, Ambassador Ahmed Fahmy, said in a statement: “President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where the strength of the historical fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries was confirmed, and discussions were held on regional conditions and ways to enhance joint Arab action to confront the challenges that affect regional security and peace.”

He pointed out that during the call, there was agreement on “the need to reach an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and stop the escalation in the West Bank, which would contribute to preventing the expansion of the circle of conflict and restore stability to the region.”

Within the framework of the ongoing negotiations between the Palestinian factions movement and Tel Aviv, through mediators, US President Joe Biden said on Saturday evening that he was “still optimistic” about reaching an agreement to end the war in Gaza, adding that all parties agreed on the “principles” for concluding a deal.

A round of negotiations was held in the Egyptian capital on August 25, when an Israeli delegation headed by Mossad chief David Barnea arrived in Cairo.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the factions movement, Izzat al-Rishq, said that the movement’s delegation left Cairo after meetings with mediators from Egypt and Qatar, noting that the movement demanded that Israel comply with the conditions that the movement agreed to in the July 2 proposal.

The mediation working groups met again last Wednesday in Doha.
