Arsenal looked to have everything under control against Brighton.

Then Declan Rice received a second yellow card for poking the ball away.

– It’s horrible, says Amazon Prime’s expert Jonas Olsson about the judge’s decision.

Arsenal have started the Premier League season in impressive fashion with two consecutive victories.

On Saturday, the league leaders were pitted against second-placed Brighton at the Emirates.

Arsenal started strongly and in the 38th minute Kai Havertz gave the home side the lead.

Four minutes later Declan Rice picked up a yellow card for a tackle.

“One of the worst decisions I’ve seen”

Four minutes into the second half, it was time again.

Brighton’s Joel Veltman would hit a free kick at his own corner flag.

Then the Arsenal star poked the ball and received his second yellow.

The midfielder, like the rest of the team, was completely unaware of the warning.

– I think it’s one of the worst decisions I’ve seen a referee make in the Premier League, says Jonas Olsson.

In the 58th minute, Joao Pedro equalized at 1-1, which was the final score.

– The referee had a big impact on this match, says former Arsenal and Brighton player Martin Keown to TNT Sports.

Ayari close to becoming a hero

The new national team member Yasin Ayari has started the season strongly in Brighton.

During Saturday’s match, he was substituted in the 17th minute after James Milner was injured.

At 1-1 in the 76th minute, the Swede basically had an open goal when goalkeeper David Raya was down on the ground.

The goalkeeper, however, caught up and saved the 20-year-old’s finish.

With Declan Rice’s red card, he is suspended in the derby against Tottenham after the national team break.
