Flight schedule to Nicaragua from Cuba in September

Authorities from the Cuban airport company, known as ECASA, published this weekend the schedule of flights to Nicaragua from the island for this month of September. Direct connections will take place from Havana. Details below.

According to the report on Telegram, it is confirmed that the Venezuelan company Conviasa remains the only alternative for these direct flights from the Cuban capital to Managua.

When are the flights from José Martí International Airport? Every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from Caracas to Managua, with the usual stopover in the Cuban capital. The return flight is scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Managua to Caracas.

There are also two additional connections from Moscow, with a stopover in Havana and continuing to Managua, Nicaragua, on Monday, September 9 and 23, according to this official information.

We have previously discussed here that since the beginning of July, a significant reduction in flights between Cuba and Nicaragua has been anticipated, mainly due to the sanctions imposed by the United States on those who promote this migration route.

Cubans trying to reach the United States via the southern border now face an additional challenge: the drastic reduction in flights to Nicaragua.

Although Nicaragua maintains a visa-free policy for Cubans, the reduction in flight options is complicating this route, as airline ticket prices are skyrocketing, stopovers are increasing, and the “backdoor deal” with Conviasa tickets is increasing.

International sanctions and political pressures are impacting air connectivity between Cuba and Nicaragua, as most airlines have suspended flights to Managua for fear of economic retaliation from the United States.

Among the airlines that have stopped operating direct flights between Cuba and Nicaragua is Aruba Airlines, which linked Havana with Managua.

Other airlines that offered connections to the Dominican Republic and then flew to Nicaragua, such as Air Century and Sky High, have also ceased operations due to the possibility of facing sanctions.
