Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc won the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix with a strong performance at the end of the race, with McLaren driver Oscar Piastri leading for most of the race before finishing second.

Rounding out the podium was Lando Norris (McLaren), with Argentinian driver Franco Colapinto finishing 13th on his debut in a Williams car but 12th due to Daniel Ricciardo’s 10-second penalty.

A day after the English team looked set to win 2-1, the local team kept up a surprising strategy and it paid off because, despite Monaco suffering badly worn tyres at the end, it was able to hold its own against an onslaught from Piastri.

In this way, Leclerc accumulated a large number of points, continuing to maintain his third place in the standings and approaching Norris, who was second in the overall standings. Norris set the fastest lap in Monza and finished third.

Fourth was Carlos Sainz (Ferrari). Others joining were Mad Max, who was sixth, behind Lewis Hamilton. George Russell (Mercedes) was seventh, Checo Perez (Red Bull) was eighth, Alex Albon (Williams) was ninth and Kevin Magnussen (Haas) was tenth.
