WhatsApp recently rolled out dark mode to all users and is now working on introducing a feature that has been around for a long time in other messaging apps.
And that feature is to automatically delete messages at scheduled times.
This feature appeared in the 2 beta version of the app and has messages in private chat disappear automatically after a certain amount of time.
App beta versions 2.20.83 and 2.20.84 have this feature which gives options for messages to expire in an hour, a day, a week, a month or a year.
When a user sets a timer, a clock icon appears next to the message so you can track how long it will take for the message to be deleted.
Although this feature is not currently available for general users, it will be useful for sending sensitive information in messages that are automatically deleted.
Telegram has already introduced this feature in its app and now Facebook is going to introduce it in its most popular messaging app.
Chances are high that when this feature is available to general users in WhatsApp, there may be some changes in it, but by when it will be introduced, it is difficult to say for now.
Messages sent in such a feature in Telegram cannot be forwarded or screenshotted by other users, but there are no details yet on how this will work in WhatsApp. .
In the past, WhatsApp had facilitated such a feature through third-party apps, but then the company took action against these apps to protect users.
