VG: Hello! claimed that the royal family agreed to the deal

The British weekly magazine Hello! has exclusive rights to pictures from Princess Märtha Louise’s wedding. Ukebladet sells a special package of fabric from the festivities, a so-called ” Norwegian Royal Wedding “-offer. In the sales advertisement, the bride has been given a royal title, please note that “prince” is currently used.

According to VG published an Instagram post on Thursday who advertised the package, where it was claimed that the royal family was at the game:

“We have spoken to the Norwegian royal family and they have agreed that paying members of Hello!’s Royal Club will receive exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from the couple’s big day, including the most intimate of wedding moments: the first dance.”

Guri Varpe, head of communications at the Royal Court, denies that the royal family has given the green light.

– The Royal Palace has not been in dialogue with Hello!, writes Varpe to VG.

– As we have conveyed previously, members of the Royal Household have reserved themselves from being photographed and filmed by Hello! and Netflix, in those cases where the press otherwise does not have access, Varpe points out.

Ukebladet has removed the post from Instagram, but is still advertising with an exclusive offer on royal wedding fabric.

Since 2019, the princess has agreed with the royal house that she and Verrett do not use her title in a commercial context. They must not make visible their connection to the Royal Palace either in their own social media channels, in media productions or in connection with other commercial activities.
