Yemen.. 5 killed, dozens injured in gas station explosion in Aden

Yemen – RT’s correspondent in Yemen reported on Friday evening that an explosion occurred, followed by a huge fire, as a result of a gas station explosion in the Yemeni city of Aden, amid reports of injuries.

Activists on the “X” platform published the moment of the explosion and fire at the gas station, while ambulances rushed to the explosion site to provide medical care to the injured.

At least five people were killed and 10 others injured in the explosion at a gas station on a busy street in the interim capital of southern Yemen.

A source indicated that the explosion occurred at a gas filling station and its causes are not yet known, and that the explosion caused a huge fire that spread to one of the nearby gas tanks in the area and commercial shops.

Yemen is witnessing tragic conditions in light of the war that has been going on for years, and last week, dozens of people drowned due to heavy rains and floods.

The United Nations Population Fund in Yemen announced on Thursday that torrential floods killed 24 people and left 17 others missing, explaining that the floods were caused by heavy rains and the collapse of 3 dams last Tuesday.

1,020 families were affected by the floods, which completely destroyed 40 homes and partially destroyed 230 homes, according to the UN report.

Relief teams are trying to reach the affected areas in Malhan District, Al Mahwit Governorate, as roads were damaged by floods.
