AFTER being released in digital and CD formats, now Efek Rumah Kaca’s (ERK) Rimpang album is available in vinyl. The Rimpang vinyl album is available in two versions, regular (black) and limited edition (clear).
ERK together with Demajors officially launched the Rimpang album on regular vinyl (black) on Friday (30/8) in Jakarta. The album is priced at Rp450 thousand. Meanwhile, the limited edition vinyl version will follow in the near future.
“Because Rimpang is the latest album at the moment, so our aesthetic taste is indeed there. Of course, we are very happy with the presence of this vinyl, the variety of warmth in listening to the Rimpang album can be done in many ways. It can be through digital streaming platforms, CDs, and now finally vinyl,” said ERK vocalist, Cholil Mahmud, in a press statement, Friday (30/8).
Just like the digital and CD versions of the album, the vinyl version of the Rimpang album also contains 10 songs, including Fun Kaya Fun, Bergeming, Rimpang, Heroik, Tetaplah Terlelap and Sondang.
Inspired by the rhizome theory by Deleuze and Guattari, Rhizome is a depiction of how hopes, both small and large, emerge randomly, non-linearly, without hierarchy, and in various situations (relaxed or stressed) spread silently.
Released in 2023 for digital and CD versions, Rimpang has received positive responses. At the 2023 Anugerah Musik Indonesia (AMI) Awards, the Rimpang Album was nominated for Best Alternative Album and the single “Fun Kaya Fun” was also one of the selected works in the Best Alternative Collaboration Duo/Group nomination.
