Austin, Texas – A woman was arrested for drunken driving after crashing into two Austin ISD school buses Thursday night, police said.
Austin Police said that around 11:33 p.m. on Aug. 29, officers responded to a crash involving a car and two Austin ISD school buses in the 2900 block of N Lamar Blvd.
When they learned of the incident, many McCallum High School parents, including Rolando Tey, expressed their concern.
“I was scared,” Rolando Tey said. “Maybe a little bit insecure about what is happening or what happened.”
Five students and one of the bus drivers suffered minor injuries.

Amanda Levi, a mother, said she learned of the accident Friday afternoon.
“My daughter was supposed to be at that game, so to find out about something like that is a little alarming,” Amanda Levi said.

“I know these kinds of things happen, but I really worried about my daughter and all the kids involved as well,” Tey said.
The driver of the car, Fallon Ramos, 23, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
This accident remains under investigation.
Austin ISD is one of the few districts that has seat belts on all buses after a deadly bus crash in March.
A 7 On Your Side investigation found that some Central Texas districts are still working to implement seat belts on board. In 2017, state lawmakers passed a bill requiring all school buses to have three-point seat belts.

Two buses carrying Austin ISD band students were involved in a crash Thursday night.
Five students and one of the bus drivers suffered minor injuries and another driver was taken to hospital.
According to a letter from McCallum High School Principal Andy Baxa, two of the school’s band buses were returning to campus from the Taco Shack Bowl at House Park Stadium when they were struck by a sedan.
