We all know the situation: election season means a deluge of posters flooding our streets and squares. The time is ripe for rethinking. At first glance, posters appear to be a necessary means of reaching voters. But in an increasingly digital world, where messages are available at the click of a button, the question is whether this form of advertising is still relevant. Many of the posters conveyed little, instead relying on slogans and faces that were quickly forgotten after the election. In addition to this there are environmental impacts. Thousands of posters will be printed, posted, destroyed by vandals and discarded after the election. This not only results in high costs but also unnecessary waste. Therefore, I advocate that all parties refrain from putting up posters and booths and instead rely on modern, environmentally friendly, and informative communication channels.
