Asuncion, IP Agency.- The National Electricity Administration (ANDE) intervened in three properties with direct connections without medium voltage meters dedicated to crypto mining, located in Ciudad del Este, Alto Paraná department.

According to the ANDE report, three low-voltage supplies with irregularities were identified, which generated a monthly loss equivalent to G. 41,105,093. In addition, a total of 58 cryptomining processing equipment, connection conductors, electrical panels and machine support shelves were seized and transferred to the institution’s warehouse in Ciudad del Este, by fiscal disposition.

The first case corresponds to the supply identified with NIS 2853483, registered in the name of Mrs. Rosa Maricel González López, dedicated to the production of cryptocurrencies with direct connection with a single-phase meter installed without the connection of input and output conductors.

During the inspection, it was found that the meter was not recording electricity consumption; this irregularity represents an estimated property damage of G. 20,220,924 on a monthly basis.

This first operation was led by prosecutor Julio Paredes, who with criminal case No. 12571/24 carried out the search and seizure of the equipment that includes: 16 cryptomining processors, connection conductors, electrical panels and a support shelf for the machines that were inside the house at the time of the intervention.

The house was closed at the time of the intervention, but it was found that it was also used for low voltage crypto mining. It was found that all the energy consumed was not registered and this represents an estimated property damage of G. 12,907,824 per month for the institution.

This operation, like the first one, was led by prosecutor Paredes, who with criminal case No. 12575/24 carried out the raid where six cryptocurrency processors, connection conductors, electrical panels and a shelf where the machines were placed were seized.

The last intervention corresponds to the supply identified with NIS number 3314850, which had a derivation before the meter hidden within the masonry in three-phase form.

This supply is registered in the name of Mrs. Estela Maris Ramoa Sosa and her proven activity is low-voltage cryptomining inside a home. This irregularity represents an estimated property damage of G. 7,976,345 on a monthly basis.

On this occasion, 36 cryptomining processing machines, supply conductors, electrical panels and a support rack for the machines were seized.

ANDE reminds that those responsible for the crime must pay the property damages represented by the unbilled energy, in addition to the costs of intervention and fines according to Law No. 966/64.
