On August 29, the Convergencia Venezuela party reported that officials from the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin) carried out a raid on the home of journalist and leader Biagio Pilieri in Chivacoa, Yaracuy state.

“We demand that the political persecution stop!” the political institution wrote on its social media.

In the images released by Convergencia Venezuela, a Sebin patrol and some officials can be seen on the public highway.

Pills was arrested and transferred to the El Helicoide detention center by unidentified subjects after leaving a August 28th rally in Caracas, convened by Maria Corina Machado.

Biagio Pilieri denounced persecution when leaving the concentration

The Comando Con Venezuela organization reported that both Pilieri and the leader Juan Pablo Guanipa were persecuted when leaving the demonstration.

“Unidentified individuals are trying to grab them. Two trucks and three motorcycles are trying to crash into them in order to kidnap them,” the opposition coalition said.

In a video published by the Command with Venezuela, one of the vans that was chasing Pilieri can be seen.

“I hold Nicolás Maduro responsible, I hold the Minister of Interior and Justice responsible, the Attorney General of the Republic, and all the State security forces responsible,” Piliari said in a video call with leaders of the political organization.

As for Guanipa, it was learned that the leader managed to escape and is currently being protected.

“Let us all denounce the kidnapping of Biagio and Jesús Pirieli, who are currently in El Helicoide, the largest torture center in America,” Guanipa wrote in X.

On August 28, Maria Libia de Pilieri, wife of Biagio Pilieri, demanded the immediate release of the political leader, as well as of his son Jesus Pilieri and the two members of the team who accompanied them at the time of their arrest.

The woman expressed concern for the health of her husband and son.

“Biagio Pilieri suffers from chronic health conditions due to his age and I am concerned, as a mother, about Jesus’ health. He suffered a traffic accident, suffered a skull fracture, has a prosthesis and is under medical observation,” she said in a video posted on Biagio Pilieri’s X account.

He also appealed to the national and international community, asking for support to guarantee the freedom of his relatives, arguing that their detention is an act of political repression and a violation of their human rights.

“As a wife and mother, I cannot sit back and do nothing. I demand justice and the immediate release of my loved ones,” she said.

On Tuesday, August 27, opposition leader María Corina Machado denounced the Perkins Rocha’s arresthis lawyer and the legal representative of Comando con Venezuela before the National Electoral Council (CNE).

Machado blamed the government of Nicolás Maduro and described the arrest of his legal adviser as a “kidnapping.”

On the other hand, the political party Democratic Action denounced the arrest of Felix Arroyothird vice president of that party.

Arroyo was approached by three armed men, who put him in a vehicle without license plates, in the Paseo de Las Mercedes shopping center, Baruta municipality (Miranda).
