During the domestic cricket season 2020-21, the cricketers will get more remuneration than before and a player in the A Plus category will earn more than Rs 30 lakh per season.
In this regard, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to give maximum prizes to encourage the participating players to perform well in the new season starting from September 30.
The lowest paid domestic cricketers will now earn over Rs 32 lakh this year, which is 83% more than the 2019-20 season.
This year, the player in the lowest category will earn a total of Rs 18 lakh in the new season, which is 7% more than the income of the highest earning player last year.
The earnings of these players can be calculated clearly after the official announcement of the domestic cricket season 2020-21 schedule. This season is providing an opportunity to the best players of Pakistan to perform prominently in the National T20 Cup, Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and Pakistan Cup in all i.e. ten, ten matches.
10 players included in A Plus category will receive monthly compensation of Rs.1.5 lakh for one year. Players included in this category will be given Rs 40,000 as match fee in limited-overs cricket i.e. National T20 Cup and Pakistan Cup, while Rs 60,000 per player will be given in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
Thus, this player will earn a total amount of Rs 32 lakhs in the entire season.
If a player in the A Plus category succeeds in reaching the finals of any of these three events, he will get a further boost in his earnings through additional match fees and prize money.
On the other hand, the monthly income of any player in the D category of domestic cricket is fixed at Rs.
Therefore, if a player in category D plays all 32 matches of the first XI, he will receive Rs 1.8 lakh this season, similarly if a player in this category reaches the finals of any event, additional match fee. And his income will increase further due to the prize money.
Last year, all the players included in the First XI were given an amount of 50 thousand rupees per month, these players were given 40 thousand rupees as match fee for playing limited-overs cricket and 75 thousand rupees as match fee for playing long-style cricket. were gone
Director High Performance Nadeem Khan has said that while finalizing the domestic calendar 2020-21, we have not only kept in mind all three international white ball competitions but also taken care to improve our contracts so that the players can also reap financial benefits and improve their fitness and form standards to become strong candidates for franchise cricket and the national team.
He said that PCB is aware that Pakistani cricketers are not among the highest paid cricketers in the world, but we are trying to gradually improve their contracts so that they can earn maximum income based on their ability. Be able to achieve as well as plan your better future.
Nadeem Khan further said that PCB generates its funds and income through cricket and it is only right that a major part of this income should be used for the development of cricketers and the game.
He says that I am sure that the courage and motivation of the domestic cricketers will increase with this increase and they will not only perform better than last year but will also increase their motivation to get a better contract.
