He gets lost on a path following Google Maps and is unable to go back up as darkness falls. A hiker was rescued in the evening between Sassotetto and Piobbico di Sarnano, not far from the Hermitage hotel where firefighters from Tolentino and Amandola and mountain rescue arrived to help a man who raised the alarm and alerted rescue at around 7:30 p.m.
The man had advanced above Sassotetto following a path on Google Maps, but with the arrival of darkness and cold he had lost his bearings and alarmed by the situation and the fear of not being able to go back he called the firefighters. The first to arrive were the firefighters of Tolentino and Macerata and Amandola who tried to reach the man who however found himself in an uncomfortable position at the bottom of a ravine.
The firefighters arrived 500 meters away from him, but the steep walls of the trail did not allow them to continue further. The Alpine rescue team is currently intervening with the equipment to recover the hiker. The hiker is fine and responding and is not injured. The Carabinieri are also on site.
