The parties met at the Ombudsman’s office in central Oslo on Monday afternoon.
They have a duty of confidentiality about the content of the conversations, but Martinus Røkkum of the SAS Norge cabin association in Parat informs NTB that it is about probing the way forward.
At 19.38 a pizza delivery boy arrived with a load of pizzas for the parties, which at previous meetings at the Riksmekleren has tended to indicate that the parties are not going home any time soon.
NTB has tried to get in touch with national mediator Mats Ruland on Monday evening, without success.
– Must be a significant boost
Røkkum in the SAS Norge cabin association stated earlier on Monday E24 that they hope the employer shows movement.
– And then we are prepared to discuss what may come. There must be a significant increase in wages, said Røkkum.
SAS stated ahead of Monday’s meeting that they were positive about talks.
– Ever since Friday, we have encouraged the parties to return to the negotiating table to find a solution, said SAS press manager Øystein Schmidt.
800 can be taken out on strike
There was a breach at the Ombudsman when the parties were in forced mediation at the end of last week. A total of 155 cabin crew are currently on strike, and over 50 SAS flights have been canceled on Monday. On Wednesday, the strike will be stepped up sharply, and a total of 800 cabin crew will be taken out on strike.
From before, SAS has offered to increase the salary of cabin crew above the front-line professional framework, press spokesperson Øystein Schmidt informs E24. This year, the front subject landed at 5.2 per cent.
The cabin crew in SAS have pointed out that they have lower wages than competitors and, according to Røkkum, are demanding a wage increase on a par with other airlines. Exactly what SAS has offered and what the cabin crew have demanded is unknown.
