Oligui Nguéma will deliver 22,500 new, cheaper electricity meters to SEEG –

The Gabon Energy and Water Company (SEEG) will receive 22,500 new electricity meters this Friday in order to put an end to the ordeal of populations who have been waiting for months for this tool which allows access to electricity in a household or an administration, announced press release No. 065 of the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI), read Tuesday by his spokespersoncolonel Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi.

The provision of these meters by the President of the Transition, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, is part of an operation called “1 Gabonese – 1 meter” in order to resolve the nagging problem of meter availability.

Of the 22,500 meters, there are 18,000 single-phase meters and 4,500 three-phase meters. CTRI press release No. 065 also announces that from now on, single-phase meters will be installed at a cost of 70,000 CFA francs, instead of 140,000 CFA francs and three-phase meters at 120,000 CFA francs, instead of 280,000 CFA francs.

« Installing meters above these rates will expose the perpetrators to the rigors of the law. », have the CTRIs.

Provisional administration

The SEEG will be placed under provisional administration and the provisional administrator will be appointed at the end of the next Council of Ministers, the CTRI also decided.

Ulrich Manfoumbi also reported on the overhaul of the SEEG organization chart with more national verticality and an organization focused on efficiency, simplicity and control, with technical profiles; the transition from 51 directors or similar to 14 and 21 divisional directors and the renegotiation of the debt with a repayment plan.

The press release, published in the evening, has not yet provoked any reactions.
