The woman had gone into the sea shortly after 11 a.m. to cool off and suddenly collapsed. Other bathers brought her to shore and raised the alarm, as the Jesolo coast guard confirmed.
Resuscitation efforts failed
Lifeguards and a professional nurse arrived, followed by an ambulance. Despite resuscitation efforts, help came too late for the 71-year-old. There was no information about the exact origin of the woman, who was accompanied by relatives.
