INDIKA released the single Malang, which carries a reminder message for all of us about the importance of maintaining relationships with the people we love.
The alternative pop rock unit from Malang officially released their first single entitled Malang. Not just a musical work, this song can be said to be a ‘letter’ to the city that raised them.
The song Malang is inspired by a universal experience felt by many people, namely longing for their hometown. The poetic and profound lyrics tell the true story of a traveler who seeks his fortune in another city, but eventually realizes that home is where the heart is. In this case, home for the traveler is the city of Malang.
“We want to express our gratitude to Malang City through this song,” said Satria, Indika’s bassist. “We want to convey the message that wherever we are, beautiful memories of our hometown will always be in our hearts. Malang for us is more than just a city, but a home full of love and beautiful memories.”
It is no wonder that this band is indeed full of a strong sense of friendship and family. The personnel have been friends since their teenage years, precisely since they were in junior high school, until now, more than 20 years.
During that time, they have experienced many things together, spanning distance and time, to their respective busyness. However, the Indika personnel admitted, they have never been separated at all.

From this friendship of having the same hobby, the band was born, which was initially named Kailash.
The band’s name change from Kailash to Indika was made in 2024.
“We think the name Indika is easier to remember and sells better. In addition, this name also seems elegant and has a more philosophical meaning, namely about true will.”

Through this single, Indika hopes to convey his gratitude to the people of Malang and inspire many people to love their city.
In addition, this song, which is wrapped in easy listening alternative pop rock music, is also expected to introduce Indika music to a wider audience.
In terms of music production, the single Malang was written by Satria. Meanwhile, Gege Praseta acted as arranger and producer. The work on this single was done at AA Studio Musik, Malang.

The single Malang was officially released on August 14, 2024 and can be enjoyed on various music streaming platforms such as Spotify, YouTube Music, and also Apple Music.
“We hope that this single will be well received by the public. We also hope to continue to work and produce quality works,” concluded the Indika personnel.
