Indonesian Paralympic Contingent Arrives in Paris

The Indonesian Paralympic Contingent arrived in Paris and was warmly welcomed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to France, Mohamad Oemar, at Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris.

In a written statement, Thursday (22/8), Oemar hopes that the athletes can give their best in every match. He also
directly encourage all members of the contingent.

Indonesian athletes who have undergone national training in Solo City from November 2023 to August feel increasingly motivated by the support given by the Ambassador and the entire Indonesian people.

They are optimistic that they can provide the best results in the 2024 Paris Paralympics, which will take place from August 28 to September 8.

A total of 35 athletes will compete in 10 sports that are Indonesia’s mainstay, namely archery, athletics, cycling, shooting, swimming, boccia, badminton, table tennis, weightlifting, and blind judo.

Previously, 16 members of the Indonesian Paralympic contingent had arrived earlier in Paris to undergo intensive training. They consist of athletes and coaches from the boccia and archery sports.

In addition to undergoing training, the 16 members of the contingent who arrived earlier also had the opportunity to participate in the celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia which was held at the Indonesian Ambassador’s Residence, Paris, on August 17.

Indonesia is targeting one gold medal, two silver medals and three bronze medals from the 2024 Paris Paralympics. (Ant/Z-1)
