Continued provision of food to vulnerable communities in the Paraguayan Chaco

Asuncion, IP Agency.- Through the coordinated work of several institutions, articulated by the National Emergency Secretariat (SEN), assistance continues to vulnerable communities in the Paraguayan Chaco with non-perishable food and ensuring the provision of drinking water.

In the department of Boquerón, a total of 1,180 families from the Yalve Sanga native community have received assistance in recent days, in a work coordinated by the SEN with representatives of the government and local authorities.

Likewise, in the Cacique Mayeto community, 305 families were assisted, while in Uj’e Lavhos 779 families were assisted, both localities in the district of Filadeldia.

“We continue to distribute food kits to compatriots in vulnerable situations in the Western region,” reported the SEN, which also reported this week that jfque, in collaboration with Itaipu Binacional, delivered food kits to 770 families in indigenous communities in the department of Presidente Hayes.

Likewise, through the “Y Marangatu” project, SEN officials carried out an exhaustive damage assessment and needs analysis (EDAN) in 20 communities in the department of Presidente Hayes, while in Puerto Pinasco a thorough analysis was made of the state of the water systems and the social situation in various communities in the district.

This task seeks to identify the needs and possible solutions to improve the quality of life of communities.
