The Diamar Bhashadam project, the guarantor of the country’s prosperity and stability, is on its way to completion, WAPDA diverted the Indus River, which has been flowing for centuries, to the tunnel. The Prime Minister will also review important developments in the next few days.
WAPDA, engaged in the construction of the dam, crossed the important milestone and diverted the national river “Indus River” flowing for centuries.
Now the Indus River will rejoin its original route through a one kilometer tunnel and an 800 meter long canal.
The caretaker Prime Minister will also visit the Diamer Bhasha Dam site in the next few days to review this important development.
To review the ongoing works on the dam and in view of the Prime Minister’s visit, Chairman WAPDA Engineer Lieutenant General Retired Sajjad Ghani has also reached the dam area on a one-day visit.

The completion of the Diamer Bhasha Dam will store 8.1 million acres of flood water and provide 4500 MW of affordable and environmentally friendly electricity, while over one million acres of land will be irrigated.
