Another devastating tragedy almost occurred at an amusement park, this time in Pieria. A train on which a 6-year-old boy was riding started to emit sparks, the carriage with the child derailed and the little one escaped the worst, because he managed to… hold on. All this in front of his parents. The family sued the park officials and the child’s mother spoke exclusively to STAR and Anna Stamatiadou.
“On 12/8 at night, we had gone to the amusement park with my family and my middle son, 6 years old, asked me to go on the roller coaster. When my husband picked him up he went to put his seat belt on but the operator said he didn’t need to. And after a few rotations the roller coaster stopped. The operator came shortly, started it up and started the wagon which was my son sparking from the wheels below…” says the mother of the 6-year-old.
A supposedly innocent game of joy at an amusement park in Pieria turned into a few seconds … a rollercoaster of horrors for the family who had gone to the park to have fun. It wasn’t just the sparks on the wheels of the wagon that the juvenile boy had gotten into…
Mother of 6-year-old: “My son hit his hand”
The boy’s dad, who was filming the video, immediately turned off his phone when he saw the train derail. The mother was shocked.
In Pieria the game operator did not abandon the boy
However, in contrast to the tragedy in Halkidiki – where the operator of the toy set it on his feet – here, as the 6-year-old’s parents say, the person controlling the roller coaster immediately rushed to help the little student.
