Cargo terminal of the Eastern Metropolitan Corridor will speed up international trade between Paraguay and Brazil

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications reports that, with 59% progress, the new cargo area of ​​the National Navigation and Ports Administration is emerging as the core of the Eastern Metropolitan Corridor (CMDE) in Alto Paraná. This 28-hectare complex incorporates vital facilities for international trade and will streamline trade between Paraguay and Brazil.

The ANNP terminal will centralize binational cargo operations, integrating scales, scanners, warehouses, verification platforms and a parking lot for 1,200 trucks.

This project, a fundamental part of the CMDE, complements the Integration Bridge between Presidente Franco and Foz de Yguazú, will enhance connectivity and stimulate the regional economy.

Advances in the primary area

As for the future Customs Procedures Center (CTA), progress is 66%. With the roofing finished and the masonry in the final stage, the installation of floors and finishes will begin and completion is projected for October, under the supervision of professionals from the Ministry of Public Works and Communications.

The Eastern Metropolitan Corridor, in addition to the works mentioned above, is being developed through six contracts: four for road infrastructure, including rural and urban sectors in Presidente Franco and a 500-meter bridge over the Monday River, fronts that are currently under construction, reports the MOPC.
