This Friday, August 23, around 8:30 a.m., an armed man entered the municipal swimming pool in the town of Brignais, located south of Lyon (Rhône).
The perimeter has been cordoned off by law enforcement and the municipal police. The Orange GIGN branch is also engaged in an attempt to find the individual. But according to information from Le Progrèsthe madman would no longer be on the scene.
Information confirmed by the Rhône prefecture after a search operation inside the aquatic center to try to apprehend the madman.
The investigation continues in an attempt to locate and identify the individual.
Residents confined
According to our colleagues, taking up information from BFM Lyonthe place was not yet open to the public when the man, equipped with a handgun, entered the aquatic center this morning. The staff, however, managed to leave the premises.
The security perimeter has been reduced but law enforcement remains deployed in the area. Residents have been ordered to stay indoors for a good part of the morning.
