Manuel Bompard’s reaction to Gabriel Attal’s proposal to freeze spending is “pure scandal”. In response, France’s national coordinator Insoumise asked Emmanuel Macron to urgently appoint Lucie Katheitz as Matignon. Because if the new Popular Front comes to power, they will not respect this initiative, according to Fabien Roussel, boss of the Communist Party of Europe No. 1.

“I announce to you that we plan to increase it by 30 billion euros, to 522 billion euros, making it possible to immediately invest in increasing civil servants’ salaries, in vital public services, in free public schools, especially at the beginning of this school year, in particular in setting up a climate ISF, and in taxing dividends from large companies.

“We wanted to show him that we were ready”

For Emmanuel Macron, extraordinary tax increases remain a red line. But the left hopes to win its case at a meeting this Friday with the head of state. Fabian Roselle affirmed that the president must recognize that his policies “have been rejected in the last two elections, he has been rejected by the vast majority of our compatriots. The French want this to change and we want to reflect this change. We want to show that he said we are ready.”

According to them, this change involves the appointment of Lucie Castets. Prime Minister who will propose the first reforms “that we want to implement quickly”. With it, the approach will change compared to the past years. “We don’t want to brutalize Parliament, we want to build a parliamentary majority with the French, the unions and the strong forces of the State, we want to give the voice back to the people, taking advantage of the referendum as much as possible”, said Fabian Roussel, shaking his fist.

Fabian Roussel supports censorship

The only problem facing the new Popular Front is this: if the president refuses to appoint Lucie Castets to the Matignon party, the four factions of the new party will be divided on their response. La France insoumise threatens to launch impeachment proceedings against Emmanuel Macron, while Olivier Faure, Marine Tondelier and Fabien Roussel prefer to review the next government. “If the president appoints someone other than Lucie Castets, someone who plans to cut the budget, to save money, we will sanction him, we will vote on a motion of censure,” the Communist boss concluded.
