After the French team’s three out of three earlier, Richard Gasquet continued the French team’s flawless run by dominating the American Kudla in the first round of the US Open qualifiers (6-4, 7-5). On the other hand, the French team had more difficulties since Leolia Jeanjean and Harmony Tan were eliminated from the start. The former fell to the American Chang (6-1, 6-3) and the latter lost to the Belarusian Sasnovich (6-2, 6-3).
