The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued the election schedule on the instructions of the Supreme Court, according to which the general elections will be held across the country on February 8.
After the decision of the Supreme Court, a meeting was held in the Election Commission of Pakistan under the chairmanship of the Chief Election Commissioner, in which the members gave a briefing on the situation after the court decision.
Later, the members approved the election schedule 2024 which was released by the Election Commission.
According to the schedule, candidates will be able to submit nomination papers from December 20 to 22, after which the list of candidates will be released on December 23. According to the schedule, the nomination papers of the candidates will be scrutinized from 24 to 30 December.
According to the schedule issued by the Election Commission, the final list of candidates will be published on January 12, 2024, while election symbols will be issued to the candidates on January 13. The Appellate Tribunal will dispose of the appeals by January 10.
According to the schedule, the general elections will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024. The notification states that the same schedule will be applicable to the specific seats as well as the provincial seats of the four provinces.
On the other hand, the Election Commission of Pakistan also released the training schedule of the returning officers after the decision of the Supreme Court. According to which the training of returning officers will be on 17 and 18 December 2023 while the training of district returning officers will be on 19 December 2023.
