Tonight is the Premier League premiere for Lucas Bergvall and his Tottenham.
The English newspaper The Standard believes that the 18-year-old will be given chances in the first team together with Archie Gray of the same age.
The latter is even believed to get the chance from the start right away.
Since the transfer from Djurgården, Bergvall has impressed during the pre-season with Tottenham together with Archie Gray of the same age.
Now claims The Standard that Tottenham throw in the new acquisition Gray from the start in the midfield. The two 18-year-olds are expected to get a proper chance in Spurs’ first team during the season, starting in the away game against Leicester.
Last week, Tottenham’s Yves Bissuoma was suspended internally after he posted a video of himself inhaling nitrous oxide, which has opened up a place in midfield alongside Pape Matar Sarr. That spot seems to be filled by Archie Gray.
The Standard also writes that the inner midfield is not a priority when it comes to more new signings for the club. This when Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall impressed coach Ange Postecoglou during the summer.
Bergvall’s compatriot Dejan Kulusevski is expected to start for Tottenham offensively. In attack, star acquisition Dominic Solanke looks set to start.
In an earlier version, we wrote that Bergvall is expected to start the premiere. It was a misinterpretation of The Standard’s article.
