Many questions remain unanswered regarding the circumstances under which the 8-year-old girl died in a camping pool in Halkidiki.
The statements of the 19-year-old team leader, the lifeguard, as well as the children who were in the pool, which was sealed by decision of the Municipality, are considered critical, while the possibility of revoking the camp’s license is being considered.
However, until this time, the camp is operating as normal, at a time when the operating permits for its two swimming pools have already been revoked.
The investigation by the competent authorities is ongoing and all the children who were in little Angeliki’s group are to be examined by the Juvenile Department of Thessaloniki, according to ERT, in order to shed light on the case.
As soon as the process of the children’s depositions is finished, the relevant file will be sent to the Prosecutor’s Office in order to initiate the next steps.
Information that the 8-year-old was dead three hours at the bottom of the pool
Meanwhile, new evidence is coming to light. According to SKAI citing police sources, little Angeliki was reportedly at the bottom of the pool for at least three hours, before they started looking for her.
In fact, as it turns out, the first to notice Angeliki’s absence and start looking for her, was her older sister, who was also in the camp.
Testimonies state that the 8-year-old girl did not go to the dining room for lunch at noon, a fact that also emerges from the forensic examination, which showed that the child’s stomach had little food residue (probably from breakfast).
