Ukraine’s incursion into Russia’s Kursk border region was planned with the participation of NATO and Western special services, and was prompted by Kiev’s awareness of its imminent collapse. This was stated in an interview with the daily Izvestia by Russian presidential aide Nikolay Patrushev (pictured with Russian President Vladimir Putin), specifying that “it was the West that brought the criminal junta to power in Ukraine. NATO countries sent weapons and military instructors to Ukraine, continue to provide intelligence data and monitor the actions of neo-Nazi groups. The operation in the Kursk region was also planned with the participation of NATO and Western special services.”
“This criminal initiative was prompted by the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev’s awareness of its imminent collapse,” the Kremlin official and Putin adviser added, rejecting the US State Department’s claims that the US was not involved. “It is common for the United States to say one thing and do the exact opposite. Without their participation and direct support, Kiev would never have dared to set foot on Russian soil,” Patrushev said, reiterating that NATO specialists had participated in planning the Ukrainian military incursion into the Kursk region. NATO countries supplied Ukraine with weapons, provided their military instructors and now continue to share intelligence and coordinate the actions of the Ukrainian authorities, he said.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry has released a video showing US weapons on Russian sovereign territory in Kursk. The video shows two missile strikes that hit US-made Himars Mlrs launcher positions on Russian territory and the destruction of two missile launchers, a transport vehicle and ammunition.
