The launch of the iPhone 16 is quickly approaching, and like every year, anticipation for Apple’s September event is sky-high.
At this point, it is possible to outline a fairly detailed picture of what awaits us with this new generation of smartphones. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, in his weekly column Power On, offered some interesting previews not only on the future iPhone 17 Air and the new iPhone SE expected for 2025, but also took stock of the iPhone 16, highlighting the main differences compared to previous models and revealing some of the most anticipated new features.
The iPhone 16 launch is coming soon
One of the most discussed aspects concerns the design of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, which will undergo a visible change especially in the photographic sector. The two rear cameras will no longer be enclosed in a square module, but will have a new pill shape with vertical orientation. This design change could give the devices a more modern and distinctive look. Moving on to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, the bezels are expected to be further reduced, thus increasing the display size to 6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max, up from 6.1 and 6.7 inches on the current iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
Under the hood, the iPhone 16 will bring significant performance improvements.
All models will be equipped with the new A18 chip and 8 GB of RAMan increase that has been designed to better support the new Apple Intelligence features, which will be accessible on all iPhone 16 models, but will be limited to only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max for previous generations.
A new button is coming
Speaking of buttons, A capacitive “Capture” button is expected to arrive on the right side of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, designed to improve the photography experience. This button, similar to the one on DSLR cameras, will allow different levels of pressure: a light press will activate autofocus, while a firmer press will take the photo. Additionally, by sliding your finger along the button, you can control the zoom, even during video recording.
In the end There will be no shortage of new color options. The first leaked images suggest that they will be available in at least five variants: blue, pink, white, black and green, with more vibrant hues than those seen in the past. As for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, there will be the return of the pink color (Rose Titanium), which will replace the current blue (Blue Titanium), alongside the classic white, black and gray. With these previews, the anticipation for the launch of the iPhone 16 is certainly high, and we just have to wait until September to find out all the new features that Apple has in store.
