In a recent stinking statement, the founding president of the Union for the Republic (UPR), Paulin Othogo, declared that he had filed a complaint against the politician Gervais Oniane, whom he accuses of having usurped the name of his political party.
“On July 11, 2024, the UPR filed a complaint with the public prosecutor’s office at the Court of First Instance of Libreville, against Mr. Gervais Oniane for usurpation of our distinctive signs,” Mr. Othogo informed the public, hoping for a favorable outcome from the justice system shortly.
For Paulin Othogo, all the actions taken by Gervais Oniane in the name of the UPR were done illegally. He deplores that the latter, who is also High Representative of the President of the Transition, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, can row against the tide of the law.
“Despite our multiple appeals and under the false pretext that he would like to have privileged relations with the new authorities of the country, Mr. Gervais Ondiane does not deign to comply with the law”he lamented.
Paulin Othogo claims to have created his political party on August 22, 2021. During his statement he presented to the press the final receipt of the UPR, issued by the Ministry of the Interior.
