Vice President (Wapres) Ma’ruf Amin said that the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) is one of the best national capitals in the world.
This was stated by Ma’ruf after two days of activities in the Indonesian Capital City and after laying the first stone (groundbreaking) for the construction of the Phase I Vice Presidential Palace area in the IKN, today.
“It is very good, and the air is nice, clean, I think the buildings meet international standards, the palace is also magnificent, the shape of the palace, I think it will be one of the best capital cities in the world,” he said.
Furthermore, the Vice President said that he had toured the IKN, including reviewing the IKN Reservoir with President Joko Widodo and the Ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.
“All good, I went to the reservoir earlier. I think this is the future of Indonesia, this is for the next generation,” he said.
For this reason, Ma’ruf hopes that the development of the IKN can foster a sense of pride and self-confidence among the Indonesian people, that as a nation, Indonesia can compete with other nations in the world, especially in the field of infrastructure development.
“We hope [IKN] give a sense of pride, confidence, that we can as a nation, build a palace that exceeds other palaces abroad. This can be a motivation for future generations,” he concluded. (Ykb/P-2)
