SINCE releasing the album Anti in 2016, Rihanna has reportedly been set to release her ninth studio album.
According to the Sun, the Diamonds singer is believed to be preparing her first record after an unidentified industry insider leaked the news.
“It’s been a running joke how long Rihanna’s ninth album has been coming out, but the wait is almost over,” the insider said, as quoted by Music News, Wednesday (14/8).
“Because she wanted it to sound fresh, and because of where Rihanna was in her life, practically everything was canceled,” he continued.
The source also added that the Barbadian singer had experimented with a number of different genres before deciding on what worked best for her.
“He’s gone from pop to reggae to hip hop and everything in between,” he said.

Previously, Rihanna’s last album titled Anti was released in 2016. Since then, the singer has started focusing on her partner, ASAP Rocky, and has had two children.
As an entrepreneur, Rihanna is also seen busy building her own businesses, namely Fenty cosmetics and lingerie business, Savage X Fenty.
According to sources, Rihanna managed to generate income from her business to reach more than US$1.4 billion or around Rp22 trillion. (Z-1)
