ISSOM national champion Avila Bahar and his father Alvin Bahar returned home with joy after Round 3 of the Malaysian Championship Series (MCS) at the Sepang Circuit, which ended on Sunday (11/8). In that event, Avila and his teammate Putera Adam achieved the best result, finishing in first place.

During the Friday (9/8) qualification, Avila and Putera had made an extraordinary leap, achieving pole position. So Avila could start in front among the total of 55 cars that appeared, Avila and Putera were able to maintain the finish in first position, both of them appeared as champions of the first race, Saturday (10/8).

“Thank God, the first race went smoothly so we could get back on track,” said Avila.

In the second race held on Sunday (11/8) Avila and Putera started in front accompanied by heavy rain so that the safety car continued to guard the 55 cars that appeared. Slowly but surely, Avila continued to advance, but the roar of the rain grew louder.

As a result, the race committee decided to raise the red flag to stop the second race due to weather constraints. The winners of the second race were still Avila and Putera.

“What can you do, the weather is indeed difficult to predict. But, still be grateful because everything is fine and the first race has won. That’s good, definitely next time will be better,” said Avila. (Z-6)
